Think you’re on a train track with a train coming at you.
What would you do?
Most people would stop thinking about it, step off the track, and go on with their day.
What would a person with anxiety do?
Someone with anxiety might think about moving to another track, but then imagine another train coming. They might think about jumping, but then a helicopter appears in their thoughts. They’re back on the first track, stuck, with the sound of the train getting louder and scarier.
The point is
Anxiety feels like a never-ending cycle of made-up fears. But remember, it’s all in your head. And you can choose to stop thinking about it.
